Health and Counseling Services
Health Center
The Pfeiffer University Health Center provides high quality, confidential health care delivered by Atrium Health. The health center is located in the Stokes Student Center on the Misenheimer campus. It is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (it is closed from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.).
Appointments can be made 24/7 using online scheduling or by calling the health center at 704-463-3425.
After Hours: If you need care outside of normal clinic hours, call the health clinic to get connected to several after-hours resources, including nursing support and the on-call provider.
In addition to in-person visits, video visits can be scheduled for patients located in North Carolina. Video visits are a great option if you’re too sick for an in-person visit or are off campus during school breaks.
Students do not pay any out-of-pocket costs for services they receive at the health center. These services are covered by your student fees.
Services are private and confidential. The health center is a safe space for students to come, learn and get help.
Services include:
- Sick visits for colds, flu, COVID-19, allergies, sinus infections, urinary tract infections and more
- Injury care for minor cuts, burns, sprains, strains and more
- Testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)and pregnancy
- Care for chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma
- Annual wellness exams
- Vaccinations
- Weight management
- On-site testing and labs
- Specialty eConsults (clinic provider virtually consults with Atrium Health specialists)
The health center is staffed by an Atrium Health advanced practice provider (physician assistant or nurse practitioner). The provider can collaborate with your primary care physician and/or specialists as needed to help you achieve your best possible health outcomes.
