Pfeiffer University Guarantees Pathway for Richmond Community College Grads
Beginning this fall, Richmond Community College graduates will benefit from guaranteed admission to Pfeiffer University.
Presidents from both institutions signed the Pfeiffer Pact transfer agreement on Thursday. The agreement gives Richard Community College students who graduate with an associate degree a seamless path for transition to junior status at Pfeiffer. Further, the agreement includes a transfer scholarship award in the amount of $20,000 for traditional face-to-face students or a 20% discount for online students.
Students will also receive clear advising support as a result of the Pfeiffer Pact, ensuring that they know exactly which courses they need at both Richmond Community College and at Pfeiffer in order to graduate on time. The transfer application fee and residence requirement are waived for students who transfer via the Pact.
“We’re excited about this agreement. For me, it’s about affordability as much as accessibility,” said Dr. Scott Bullard, president of Pfeiffer University. “With the $20,000 annual scholarship, we are working to make private, church-related higher education affordable.”
Graduates of the nursing, teacher prep, accounting, information technology, and business are among the programs that are eligible for transfer.
“This agreement is going to make it affordable for students to get a degree without leaving the region,” said Emily Carella, Pfeiffer’s Vice President for Enrollment Management. “We are pleased to be able to serve Richmond Community College graduates by creating a seamless transition. We look forward to welcoming them as Pfeiffer Falcons!”
Pfeiffer University has signed similar agreements with Stanly Community College, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Montgomery Community College, Randolph Community College and Piedmont Community College (Person County campus). These agreements reflect Pfeiffer’s commitment to providing high-quality and affordable education opportunities for transfer students in the region.
