Meet Dr. Don Poe, Pfeiffer’s Professor of Psychology. Dr. Poe has been teaching for 43 years, including 21 years at Pfeiffer! He teaches a wide variety of psychology courses, including Intro to Psychology, Statistics & Data Analysis, Group Processes, Persuasion, and more.
During his time in undergraduate school, Dr. Poe took an Intro to Psychology course and participated as a subject in several experiments. He says that Intro course and his involvement in the experiments is what sparked his interest in psychology and eventually lead him to pursue it as a career.

During his career, Dr. Poe conducted research on U.S. Customs officials and how they decide who to pull out of line to search. He was awarded the Faculty of the Year award at Pfeiffer in 2022, and most recently developed several new courses, one of which is Psychology & Literature.
