Earnhardt Speaker Series – Michele Gillespie

Pfeiffer University and the Eugene I. Earnhardt Lecture Series Presents Wake Forest University Provost, Award-Winning Educator, and Acclaimed Author Michele Gillespie.

As a foremost historian of the American South, Gillespie is deeply committed to honoring all people’s experiences and voices. She is the author of two prize-winning books and has co-edited 12 books. Gillespie joined the Wake Forest Faculty in 1999, and was named Kahle Associate Professor in 2004, Associate Provost in 2007, and Presidential Endowed Chair of Southern History in 2013, before assuming the deanship in 2015. She has served as Provost since 2022.
