Board of Trustees – Mrs. Culp Shelton

Amy Culp Shelton graduated from UNC- Charlotte in 1988 with a BS in Human Services and Public Relations and from Pfeiffer University in 1990 with a BA in Education. She taught school in Rowan County for ten years before leaving in 2000 to join her family’s business in New London, H.W. Culp Lumber Company.

Amy has always lived in Stanly County and her family has a long history with Pfeiffer University. Her parents both graduated from Pfeiffer and her grandfather, Henry W. Culp, Jr. served as a member of Pfeiffer’s Board of Trustees. Most recently, her son, Reese Shelton graduated from Pfeiffer University in 2020.

Amy has always been active in her community. She currently serves on the Pfeiffer – North Stanly Water Association Board of Directors and the Stanly Health Foundation’s Board of Directors. Amy has been married to Stan Shelton for 30 years. They reside in New London, NC and have three grown children.
