Mr. Russell C. Ring ’85 – Alexandria, VA
Russell “Rusty” Conwell Ring is Vice President of Government Affairs at Roche Diagnostics Corporation and is based in Washington, D.C. Rusty leads the diagnostics state and federal lobbying, patient alliance and public policy development efforts on behalf of Roche.
Rusty previously worked at Brown Rudnick’s Government Affairs group where he was a lobbyist in their health care and insurance practice. Prior to this, he was the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at CVS Caremark for more than 10 years, working on pharmacy benefit and retail pharmacy issues. Rusty also led the federal affairs group at Mutual of Omaha during his 13 years with the company where he focused on healthcare, financial services and tax issues. He also worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant for Congressman Stan Paris (R-VA).
He previously served as chairman of the Public Affairs Council (PAC) and was on the board of directors of the
Business and Government Relations Council in Washington, DC. Rusty is also a member of the Carlton Club and is the former president of the group. He currently serves as an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church and is a member of the board of visitors for the Temple University Library.
Rusty is a native of Alexandria, Virginia and currently resides in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County, VA with his wife, Lori, his twin sons, Andrew and Colin, and step-sons, Jack and Reid.
Rusty earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Pfeiffer University in 1985 and has served on the Board of Trustees since 2010.
