Faculty Spotlight – Dr. Edward Royston
Meet Dr. Edward Royston, Pfeiffer University’s Assistant Professor of English. Dr. Royston has been teaching for over 15 years. He teaches College Writing, American Literature, Introduction to Literary Theory, and a host of courses that relate to science fiction. Dr. Royston says that he has loved reading since he was a child and that when he got to college, he realized that by teaching English, he could share that love.
When asked what he wants his students to take away from his classes, Dr. Royston said, “A love for reading, especially reading texts from different perspectives and texts that experiment with what a story can be and can do.”
Recently, Dr. Royston travelled to Portland, Oregon, where he presented a paper on Ursula K. Le Guin, one of his favorite authors.
